Who We Are

The Ethiopian Solidarity Movement (ESM) is a global initiative uniting Ethiopian civic organizations, leaders, and diaspora communities to confront Ethiopia’s urgent political, economic, and social challenges.

Hibret was officially formed on March 16, 2025, after months of collaboration sparked by a pivotal December 8 2024 Zoom forum organized by Ethiopiawinet and Save Ethiopia, with over 55 civic leaders and invited guests in attendance. Recognizing the need for coordinated action, four founding organizations—Ethiopian American Civic Council (EACC), Ethiopiawinet, Save Ethiopia, and American Ethiopian Public Affairs Committee (AEPAC)—joined forces to lay the groundwork through weekly meetings and strategic planning.

Now supported by a growing council of eight organizations, Hibret now has formed Ethiopian Solidarity Movement (ESM) building a unified and flexible platform rooted in partnership, inclusive dialogue, and shared purpose. Our goal is to bring together as many like-minded civic groups and individuals as possible to amplify impact and inspire lasting change for Ethiopia’s future.
