Community Outreach

Members of the Hibret Council are actively raising awareness to the U.S. government to apply pressure on the Ethiopian government, urging it to halt the ongoing religious persecution in the country. There have been alarming reports detailing the dismantling of Ethiopian Orthodox churches and violent attacks against Ethiopian Muslims, which have included the burning of mosques. The situation has escalated to the Ethiopian government deploying drones to target innocent civilians, exacerbating humanitarian crises and resulting in significant casualties among the population. The ESM Council believes that international attention and intervention are crucial in addressing these violations of human rights and in restoring peace and religious freedom in Ethiopia.
